my name is caleb and i am an artist and astrologer from new orleans, louisiana; currently based in new york city.

i have virgo sun, libra moon & aquarius rising, with angular uranus/pluto/mercury/venus.

my creative background includes working with collage, performance, text/writing, & painting.

i was introduced to astrology at a young age, mostly through my mother, who was an astrologer herself; falling out of touch with it through the later half of my childhood & eventually finding my own way back to the practice in high school. while i’ve been casually helping others read their chart for a couple years, i began taking on clients for written readings in november 2021, and thus far have offered both customized and pre-prescribed readings with focuses on: solar returns, big three, motivation & direction, and love/sex readings, at a suggested donation pricing model, out of acknowledgement of the brief time i’ve been offering readings & my beginner status in regards to working with clients.

in my work, i use tropical, placidus, and a blend of traditional & modern.

while i personally prefer placidus, i often acknowledge whole sign house as well in my readings, especially with chart who differ greatly between the systems. in regard to rulerships, i tend to use traditional rulers for technical, specific work & the modern rulers for more thematic, archetypical, storyline work. if i’m working with scorpio, aquarius, or pisces risings i always present both the traditional and modern ruler, working with the individual to identify which rulership system they personally identify with.

as a tropical astrologer, i think it’s very important to acknowledge that a lot of what remains of the ancient practices of astrology in the west / in western astrology has been whitewashed, gentrified, & colonized repeatedly throughout histoRY

in the long run, i hope to contribute to the field by offering an astrological practice that encourages and promotes accessibility, empowerment, community and presents an available, yet technically sound, astrology for all.

WHAT WAS PUBLIC SCHOOL LUNCH??

public school lunch was launched december 21, 2020 as an all natural self care and wellness/moisture line, offering shea butters, hair masks, and beard and hair oils. within the first year, psl expanded to include candles & essential oil blends, both largely influenced by astrology / the planets.

within the first year, public school lunch:

>WAS featured as a vendor at the first Queerartfest
>was invited to speak about the full moon @ I’mfinnatalk
>honored our policy of donating 50% of all product based profits to community aid, mutual aid funds & bail funds

now, public school lunch will be focusing on creating from an astrology-based perspective, moving away from physical products, self care, and moisture and towards astrological readings, offerings, and education.
